New WebAssist Web Hosting Customers

Welcome to WebAssist!

Because we realise that getting started with a new website often offers many challenges, we wanted to take this opportunity to help you with the basic setup of your new account at WebAssist.com.au

Publishing your Site

The first, and probably most important, of all the steps is to get your website published to the Internet. Because there are many programs that will allow you to upload your site, we have taken the time to give you actual screen shots of many of the most popular tools for uploading your page, based on what our current customers are using.

Below is a list of programs that we currently have (note: if the program that you are using is not listed here, you can still use it, we have simply not added it to our list yet.)

Publishing Tools

FTP Clients

FrontPage 2000

WSFTP

FrontPage 98

CuteFTP

FrontPage 97

Bullet Proof

Netscape Composer

Fetch

Dreamweaver

Adobe GoLive

Adobe PageMill

NOTE: When you upload your site to the Internet, you will want to make sure that you name your main page index.html, as this is how our system will recognise your page.

You are now finished uploading your site!

Setting Up Your E-mail Account Access

The second most important step is to setup your computers to log in to you e-mail accounts and collect the e-mail messages from them for you to view. While there are a large number of e-mail clients available for you to use, we have screen shots for a few of the more popular programs for your assistance. Please click on the link below for the e-mail client that you are using. First of all you will need to log into your online control panel and setup your e-mail accounts. The address to your control panel is on the bottom of your WebAssist invoice. You will need the username and password for each e-mail account that you setup via your control panel or that you requested to be setup by us, as well as the outgoing mail server (SMTP server) provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) so that you will be able to send e-mail messages. Any other details you need are located on the bottom of your WebAssist hosting invoice.
